Cost-effective energy saving system for elevator applications

Aim of the project was the development of a new cost-effective energy saving system for elevator applications that temporarily stores the braking energy to a supercapacitor bank and recovers it when the elevator turns to motoring operation. The innovation concerns an electronic device that
a) Improve the efficiency of a traction elevator driven by power converter.
b) Attains maximum exploitation and maximum operational life of the storing device (supercapacitors).
c) The developed device can be easily installed to any elevator system without requiring special parameterization or any hardware addition and modification to the existing elevator system.
